Audi Field Announces Partnership with Grand Rising Curations
Washington, D.C. –D.C. Stadium LLC and Grand Rising Curations today announced a multi-year partnership that will expand Audi Field into a Sports & Entertainment complex primed to host concerts and festivals in the Nation’s Capital.
The deal between D.C. Stadium LLC and Grand Rising Curations will be the first of its kind since Audi Field opened for business in 2018.
In addition to booking events in partnership with the Audi Field Events & Entertainment Team, Grand Rising Curations will work with national and regional concert promoters and touring companies to program and elevate Audi Field as a must-play for world-class artists seeking a venue play in the DMV area.
Grand Rising Curations was founded by Dave Niedbalski, who has over 20 years of concert industry experience, is an independent concert and festival promoter and previously spent 14 years at Live Nation. He also serves on the board of Backline, the music industry’s mental health and wellness resource.
“It’s exciting to share with the concert community that we’re open for business and the possibilities are endless,” says Niedbalski. “DMV is such a dynamic, diverse, and special market and Audi Field is truly a premier venue — impeccable sightlines, extremely intimate for its size and all the premium spaces and amenities to elevate the experience. Artists and fans will love watching it come to life.”
“Audi Field has been a central hub for sports and entertainment in Washington, D.C. since opening in 2018, hosting D.C. United soccer matches, Howard University football games, and music and culinary festivals. We aim to expand our horizons by adding a robust lineup of concerts and entertainment acts to further establish ourselves as the cultural center of our vibrant city,” said Danita Johnson, D.C. United President of Business Operations. “This partnership will solidify Audi Field as the comprehensive sports and entertainment destination in Washington, D.C. and further connect us with our diverse community.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Grand Rising Curations to continue to expand the events and entertainment offerings at Audi Field. We are incredibly eager to bring shows to Audi Field that are reflective of the DMV’s vibrant community.” said Janine Brunson-Johnson, D.C. United Senior Director of Events and Entertainment. “Dave brings an extraordinary breadth of knowledge and experience to this partnership. It is exciting to have the opportunity to work with him in this capacity.”
Audi Field, a 20,000-seat state-of-the-art facility, is centrally located near both the bustling Navy Yard and Buzzard Point area just south of downtown Washington, DC. It is the home stadium for Washington, D.C.’s professional soccer teams, D.C. United in Major League Soccer, and the Washington Spirit in the National Women’s Soccer League. The stadium has also served as the host to various other sporting and cultural events.
Technically advanced – Digital First
In recent years, Audi Field has worked diligently to create a frictionless experience for patrons, with all event tickets being accessed from a mobile device to ensure a seamless ticketing experience. Additionally, Audi Field offers digital currency to provide a cashless environment where visitors can scan and pay.
Culinary Experience
D.C. United recently announced their elevated culinary experience, which includes partnerships with local, well-known D.C.-based restaurants whose fare will now be sold at Audi Field.
Transportation options
The closest Metro stop to Audi Field is Navy Yard/Ballpark and it is accessible by the Green Line. That station’s sign pointing commuters toward the ballpark was recently updated to read “Ballpark and Soccer Stadium.”
Audi Field is just off the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge and there are 6,500 parking spots near Audi Field; however, as with any entertainment venue, it is advised that visitors take advantage of ride-sharing or public transit when possible. Audi Field also offers bicycle parking outside the southwest corner of the building and complimentary bike valet parking on event days.
